Waking, Sleeping and On-call Carers

Availability and responsiveness

We understand that the needs of children with special requirements may vary throughout the day and night. Our team includes waking, sleeping, and on-call carers who provide around-the-clock support, ensuring that children receive the care they need, whenever they need it.

Our responsibilities as Waking, Sleeping and On-call Carers

Waking Carers are actively engaged and available throughout the night, providing care and support as needed. They may assist with night-time routines, administer medications, and respond to any needs or emergencies that arise during the night. Waking Carers are alert and ready to provide immediate assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of the individuals they care for.

Sleeping Carers are present in the home during the night but are allowed designated periods of sleep. They may be required to respond to emergencies or provide assistance if needed during the night, but their primary role is to be available while resting. This arrangement allows caregivers to get some sleep while maintaining the capability to provide support during specific intervals.

On-call Carers are not physically present at the location but are available by phone or another communication method. They may be contacted in case of emergencies or urgent situations that require immediate attention. On-call Carers are expected to be responsive and ready to provide guidance or make decisions remotely, and they may need to travel to the location if the situation requires their physical presence.
